THANKS FROM TOM

My family and I would like to thank you for having a meal with us today. We know
many of you have been dining with us for years while others may have just discovered
Tom's.

As you look around the dining room, our history surrounds you. There are a variety of
pictures of friends and celebrities who have visited. There are letters from many of you
that are very special to us, and there are plaques, awards and newspaper articles that
we have proudly received over the years.

When Helen and I opened Tom's Place on the corner of Dixie Highway and Glades Road
in 1977, our tables were wooden picnic tables, our grill was a 55 gallon drum, and our
restaurant was a shack. However, it wasn't long before Boca discovered Tom's, their
first soul food/BBQ restaurant. Many nights we had lines of patrons waiting to sample
our black-eyed peas, collard greens, corn muffins, BBQ ribs/chicken, and of course
our sweet potato pie. God had answered our prayers.

Well, some things have changed and some things haven't. We moved in 1987 to Federal
Highway and now we have move to West Palm Beach. The 55 gallon drum was replaced
by state-of-the-art-wood-burning rotisserie ovens, and we now have a wood burning
barbeque pit in West Palm Beach. Today my kitchen is bigger than my whole restaurant
was in 1977. What hasn't changed is our dedication and consistency in delivering the
same great food that we've always served. it's easy to do when some of our cooks and
service staff have been with us for over 25 years. Along the way, we have become family.
God is still answering our prayers, bringing each one of you to our place. So from our family
to yours, Thank You for your support and God bless you.
